Mets sign OF Travis Jankowski, recall Hayden Senger

The Mets signed veteran outfielder and old friend Travis Jankowski to a minor-league deal earlier today. The left-handed batting Jankowski has played for eight teams in his career, most recently starting this year with the Tampa Bay Rays. Jankowski appeared in 43 games for the Mets in 2022, and is a lifetime .236/.318/.305 hitter. He can play all three-outfield positions well, has a decent knack for taking a walk and, if promoted, will likely not take up too much playing time from the usual trio of Tyrone Taylor, Brandon Nimmo, and Juan Soto.
