Mets sign four to minor league deals

The Mets signed RHP Buddy Carlyle, LHP Duane Below and infielder Marc Krauss to minor league contracts with invites to major league spring training. The team also signed LHP Andrew Barbosa to a minor league contract.

Carlyle, 37, was on the Mets Opening Day roster last year and went 1-0 with one save and a 5.63 ERA (five earned runs/8.0 innings) in 11 games before he was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List on May 14. He underwent arthroscopic right hip surgery on June 16 in Vail, CO.
