In addition to calling a team meeting this afternoon, the Mets have announced a couple of roster moves ahead of this evening’s game. After his performance last night in which he gave up four runs over 1 1⁄3 innings, the Mets optioned Drew Gagnon to Triple-A Syracuse. Additionally, the Mets have placed the struggling Jeurys Familia on the injured list with a Bennett lesion in his right shoulder. This is the same issue Familia was sidelined with earlier this season and is a type of bone spur that is usually asymptomatic, but can sometimes become painful.
