Justin Hagenman is slated to join the Mets on Friday in Philadelphia, working as either the starter or as a bulk option behind an opener.
Hagenman, a 28-year-old right-hander, was signed to a split deal last offseason after spending 2023 with the Red Sox. He’s appeared in one game in the majors this season, allowing one run in 3.1 innings on April 16th against the Twins. The results on the minor league side have been less positive; a 6.21 ERA over 33.1 innings split between starting and relief, though an unusually high HR/FB rate and unusually low LOB% have inflated that mark somewhat.
