Mets place J.D. Davis on 10-day IL

Earlier today, the Mets offically announced that they would be placing J.D. Davis on the injured list with a left hand contusion, retroactive to April 7. To take his place on the 26-man roster, the club purchased the contract of infielder José Peraza. In a bit of a surprising move, the team designated pitcher Franklyn Kilome for assignment.

Davis left the club’s second game of the season after being hit by a pitch on his left hand. The club took X-Rays that night, which came back negative. The Mets took X-rays again the next day, which also came back negative, and he was listed as day-to-day.
