The Mets have placed outfielder Jake Marisnick on the injured list with right hamstring tightness and called up outfielder Guillermo Heredia from their alternate site to take his place on the roster.
If you’re not familiar with Heredia, he’s only been in the Mets’ organization since late August, when he was claimed by the team off waivers from the Pirates. In 1,119 plate appearances in the big leagues with the Mariners, Rays, and Pirates, Heredia has hit just .239/.317/.339 with an 83 wRC+.
