In addition to the expected moves that brought Mark Vientos and Joey Lucchesi up to the big league roster and saw Joey Wendle and Yohan Ramírez designated for assignment, the Mets announced today that they had optioned José Buttó to Triple-A Syracuse and called up fellow right-handed pitcher Grant Hartwig to take his place on the roster.
After starting the season in Syracuse, Buttó got a spot start as the Mets’ 27th man during a doubleheader early in the season and was called up again to take a regular spot in the team’s rotation shortly thereafter.
