Mets: Noah Syndergaard has ‘insignificant’ bone spur

Mets right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard has an “insignificant” bone spur in the back of his pitching elbow, according to GM Sandy Alderson.

Alderson said the spur is “very small” and estimated that 90 percent of the pitchers in baseball are dealing with something similar.

Syndergaard said Monday night that he didn’t have a bone spur, which Alderson noted was simply his way of not wanting to make an excuse for his poor outing.

According to Alderson, Syndergaard was treated with anti-inflammatory medication and is not in danger of needing surgery at this point.
