Mets news: Matz tosses six scoreless for Binghamton

If anyone was worried that the Lat issue would derail Steve Matz’s awesome start to his career, they shouldn’t be anymore.

Facing the last place Erie Sea-wolves, Matz was nearly perfect. Not only did Matz pitch six innings of one hit ball, it only took him 56 pitches to get there. No that is not a typo, Steve Matz pitched six innings and only threw 15 balls, the whole night. He also struck out six, and made hitters look like the AA hitters they are. The one hit he allowed was a two out single to Jeff McVaney in the first.
