Mets narrowing down GM search as 2nd interviews set to begin

The Mets are narrowing down their hunt for their next general manager.

Gary LaRocque won’t be receiving a second interview for Mets GM job, according to The Post’s Mike Puma. He was told his lack of experience dealing with agents was a significant factor.

De Jon Watson, who also interviewed for the job, won’t be receiving a second interview. The four known candidates still in contention are: Doug Melvin, Kim Ng, Chaim Bloom, and Dave Littlefield.

Mets believe they are probably are finished with the first round of general manager interviews. There will be callbacks next week in which Fred and Jeff Wilpon will conduct the interviews.
