On Sunday Night Baseball, the Mets had another forgettable night in which they gave up five runs in an inning and lost to the Phillies. To make matters worse, Francisco Lindor’s homer streak in winning efforts came to an end one game shy of the all time record.
Prior to Sunday’s game, the Mets demoted catcher Francisco Alvarez to Syracuse and called up Hayden Senger in his place.
Ultimately, the Mets thought it was best for Francisco Alvarez to play every single day and have the opportunity to straighten out his performance in Syracuse.
