The Mets lost to the Rays 8-4 on a soggy Saturday afternoon at Citi Field where the start of the game was delayed by almost an hour. Tylor Megill had a disastrous fourth inning that saw a 2-1 Mets lead turn to a 6-2 advantage to the Rays, thanks in part to an error by Megill himself on a bunt play, resulting in three of the runs that crossed the plate in the inning being unearned. Despite a home run by Ronny Mauricio and an earlier long ball by Brett Baty, the Rays never relinquished the lead after the fourth and the Mets found themselves in a rare position—on the losing end of a series at home.
