Despite taking a 1-0 lead into the seventh inning, the Mets ended up falling to the Diamondbacks in frustrating 4-3 fashion. Brandon Waddell pitched well in relief of Huascar Brazobán who served as the team’s opener. Waddell did not allow a run and was in line for the win until Ryne Stanek blew his third straight game. The newly called up Chris Devenski allowed two runs to score in the ninth which ended up being the difference. Despite loading the bases with nobody out, and down two, the Mets could not come up with the big hit to end their home win streak at eight.
