Mets Morning News: Mets pick up sixth win in a row

The Mets picked up their sixth straight victory by beating the Giants 2-1. Mark Vientos put the Mets ahead with a two-run double in the sixth, and David Peterson turned in another strong outing, allowing one run over six innings. Reed Garrett and Ryne Stanek pitched scoreless seventh and eighth innings, respectively. In the ninth, Edwin Díaz surrendered a one-out double to Jung Hoo Lee that narrowly missed leaving Oracle Park, and Pete Alonso made a game-saving leap with two outs to finish off San Francisco.

Juan Soto stole his 14th base of the season, and the Mets have now stole 26 consecutive bases successfully, which is the longest active streak in the major leagues.
