Mets Morning News: Mets make smaller acquisitions in wake of bombshell Lindor/Carrasco trade

A day after making one of the most exciting trades in franchise history, the Mets made a couple of smaller acquisitions, signing infielder Brandon Drury to a minor league deal and claiming left-handed reliever Stephen Tarpley off waivers from the Marlins.

While Francisco Lindor was the big acquisition of the week, nobody should underestimate the significance of adding Carlos Carrasco to the rotation.

Fans aren’t the only ones excited by the recent trade, as a number of Mets players - including Pete Alonso - have expressed excitement at the team’s potential following the blockbuster deal.
