The Mets could not get much going against the Cubs on a cold night at Wrigley Field, losing 3-1. Though they did load the bases with one out in the ninth inning against Craig Kimbrel, Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor could not capitalize on opportunities to tie the game. Taijuan Walker got the start and struggled with his command all night long, walking in two of the three Cubs runs. However, the Mets bullpen was excellent in relief of Walker, not allowing a run. The lone Mets run was thanks to a J.D. Davis solo shot, his first of the year.
