Mets Morning News: Mets get blown out in Boston, Noah Syndergaard returns to the mound

The Mets looked very much like a team playing out the string. Taijuan Walker struggled mightily on the mound, and mixed with some poor defense, the Mets were flat out embarrassed by the Red Sox. The only positive again was Pete Alonso who hit his 35th home run of the year.

Francisco Lindor took some of the blame for why the Mets’ season went so badly and thinks if he had only played better they would be right in the thick of the race. He also believes that Steve Cohen has more than enough money to re-sign Javier Báez.
