The Mets lost 2-0 to the Red Sox, losing the series, accumulating their third loss in a row and five losses in their last six games. Clay Holmes had a decent outing, going six innings with four hits, five strikeouts, three walks and two runs. The two runs he gave up were off two solo home runs in the fifth inning, from Carlos Narváez and Rafael Devers. The Mets abysmal-of-late offense could only muster up four hits off mostly the Red Sox bullpen (with Buehler being ejected in the third inning). They also drew three walks, but none of it was enough to overcome the Red Sox small lead.
