Mets minor league catcher Andres Regnault became a prospect to watch

In the history of the New York Mets, employing a top-quality catcher is something the franchise has routinely done. Say what you want about Wilson Ramos; he’s a good offensive player.

Ramos won’t be around forever. Eventually, the Mets may turn to their minor league system for a new starting catcher. While Francisco Alvarez looks like the future backstop in Flushing, Venezuelan born minor leaguer Andres Regnault is becoming a prospect to watch.

Regnault has been with the organization since 2016 when he suited up in the Dominican Summer League.
