Mets Memories: The acquisition of Noah Syndergaard from the Blue Jays

On Dec. 8, 2012, the Mets officially acquired Noah Syndergaard, Travis d'Arnaud, John Buck, and Wuilmer Becerra from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for reigning Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey, Josh Thole, and Mike Nickeas.

5 1/2 years later, Syndergaard -- who was not the headliner in the deal -- will face his former team when he toes the rubber against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night at Citi Field at 7:10 p.m. on SNY.

The deal came about after talks between the Mets and Dickey regarding a potential contract extension didn't advance -- and GM Sandy Alderson determined it was in the best interest of the rebuilding club to capitalize on the huge season Dickey had just completed.
