The start of September of course means roster expansion. For the New York Mets, it means getting a glimpse at two relievers they got in trade returns. Jacob Rhame and Jamie Callahan will join the team in Houston this weekend. Rhame was acquired in the Curtis Granderson deal. Meanwhile, Callahan was part of the Addison Reed trade.

Fittingly enough, Callahan will wear Reed’s old number with the Mets (43). Rhame will wear 35.

Both pitchers have been in Triple-A Las Vegas since switching organizations. Rhame has been dominant since joining the 51s, striking out 11 batters while allowing only two hits and one run over six innings.
