Mets: JD Davis’ left hand X-rays come back negative; will be sent for additional testing

The New York Mets were able to hang in and beat the Philadelphia Phillies to get their first win of the season behind a strong performance by starting pitcher Marcus Stroman.

After not playing at all last week due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the rival roster (the Washington Nationals), the Mets’ season is already underway. However, they did had an injury scare last night, when third baseman JD Davis had to be taken out of the game.

Davis was struck in his left hand by a 90 mph fastball thrown by Phillies’ pitcher Chase Anderson, and he couldn’t continue playing and was replaced by Luis Guillorme.
