NEW YORK -- The Mets announced Friday that they have invited Tim Tebow to big league Spring Training. Tebow, a former college football star, was in Minor League camp last year but played multiple Grapefruit League games with the Mets.
He ended his season at Class A Advanced St. Lucie, hitting .226 with eight home runs over two Minor League levels.
NEW YORK -- Quite suddenly at first base, the Mets appear well-heeled. Five-time All-Star Adrian Gonzalez will man the position most days in April. Wilmer Flores remains a steady option against left-handed pitchers.
