Mets injury update: Dillon Gee placed on disabled list, Noah Syndergaard will be called up

Gee's groin trouble have landed him on the DL. The Thor era will begin at Citi Field on Tuesday.

Just minutes before the Mets took on the Philadelphia Phillies, Mets GM Sandy Alderson announced that right-handed pitcher Dillon Gee will be placed on the disabled list. The Mets will bring up right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard, who will make his major league debut on Tuesday.

Gee is suffering from groin issues that he experienced during his last start against the Washington Nationals. Bartolo Colon will take Gee's spot on Sunday against the Phillies and Jacob deGrom will pitch on Monday in the Mets' first game of their four-game series against the Chicago Cubs.
