Mets hit three homers, still lose to Guardians 7-6

It’s often felt like nothing can go right for the Mets this year. When they get a great pitching performance from their staff, the offense can’t muster up a run. When the offense finally does breakout, the pitching staff gets shelled. Today was pretty much the latter kind of game. The Mets hit three homers, but a poor start from Adrian Houser and some bullpen struggles made that irrelevant, as the Guardians won 7-6 for New York’s ninth loss in the past twelve games.

Houser made his return to the rotation today after struggling mightily in his first six starts for the Amazins and making a brief sojourn to the bullpen.
