Fresh off a short four-game homestand, the first-place Mets (48-34) will embark on an even-shorter three-game road trip as they head to Pittsburgh to take on the last-place Pirates (32-50). The Mets and Pirates squared off at Citi Field in May, with the Mets taking two out of three. Over the last three seasons, these two teams have split their 10 games at PNC Park.
The Mets are coming off a series split with the Braves in which they lost the first two and won the last two. Things began with a 3-2 loss on a warm Monday night at Citi Field.
