Mets GM Alderson remains non-committal about Syndergaard staying in rotation

Sandy Alderson will still not say whether or not Noah Syndergaard will remain in the starting rotation when Dillon Gee returns from the disabled list.

During an appearance on the MLB Network, after being asked point black whether or not Syndergaard would remain in the rotation, Alderson said “he’s going to stay in for one more start,” but wouldn’t elaborate beyond that regarding what the plan is.

While speaking with the team’s beat reporters minutes after his appearance on the MLB Network, Alderson said that Syndergaard is not a candidate for the bullpen at this point, and noted that whether or not Syndergaard remains with the club will have nothing to do with his potential Super 2 status.
