There have been many great moments over the years during the Subway Series.
You’d be hard-pressed to find many in Tuesday’s day-night doubleheader in The Bronx, as the Yankees and Mets split a pair of ugly games marred by bad pitching and sloppy defense.
In the opener, the Yankees used three homers — including a three-run shot by Luke Voit — to pound Zack Wheeler and the Mets, 12-5. The Mets did the same to James Paxton and the Yankees in the nightcap, winning 10-4.
The two teams meet again in July at Citi Field, but few people figure to mark their calendars following Tuesday’s mess.
