Mets' flight makes emergency stop after Howie Rose falls ill

The Mets’ charter flight from New York to Los Angeles was diverted Thursday night by a serious medical issue involving an unidentified media member, according to a source who was on the plane. The plane landed in Detroit, where the media member remained behind.

The team refused comment on the incident.

SNY broadcasters Gary Cohen, Ron Darling and Steve Gelbs and WOR broadcasters Howie Rose, Josh Lewin and Wayne Randazzo, along with behind-the-scenes workers are the only media who travel on the team charter plane. According to the Flightaware tracking website, the Mets charter plane landed at Detroit's Metro Wayne County airport just under two hours into the flight.
