The Mets have finally put outfielder Brandon Nimmo on the disabled list with a bruised left index finger, reports Tim Healey. Dominic Smith will remain with the team and take his place after being recalled as the 26th man in Sunday’s Little League World Series Classic. In a tweet that has since been deleted, Healey reported that the Mets were sending Smith back to Triple-A Las Vegas today.
Nimmo was hit in the hand back on August 16 in the first game of the Mets’ doubleheader with the Phillies.
