Mets fan, 100, born 43 years before team arrived on scene

Meet the Mets Whisperer — a Westchester granny who turned 100 the day before the Amazin’s punched their ticket to Saturday’s showdown with the Chicago Cubs.

Whenever the Mets play, Adeline Russo plants herself in her light blue armchair, turns on her 22-inch Samsung television, and starts her non-stop baseball patter.

“I’m right there, I’m right in there with them,” Russo, dressed in a blue Mets jersey and wearing an orange Mets cap, said Friday. “I’m talking to them all the time. Sometimes they listen to me, sometimes they don’t.”

On Thursday, for example, Russo said she gave struggling Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom a pep talk.
