The Mets managed just two hits against the Marlins, with their last 19 batters being retired in order to end the game, as they fell 1-0 on Tuesday.
- Sean Gilmartin started for Matt Harvey and let up one earned run on three hits. He didn't walk a batter and struck out three.
- Logan Verrett allowed two hits over 3 2/3 innings of shutout baseball. Jim Henderson, Jerry Blevins and Addison Reed each threw scoreless outings.
- Yoenis Cespedes and Juan Lagares, starting in left field and center field respectively, each singled for the Mets only two hits.
