Mets doctors reportedly suggested outfielder Michael Conforto undergo surgery, which would require a recovery time of four to six months, after he dislocated his shoulder last week, according to the New York Daily News' Kristie Ackert.

Conforto dislocated his left shoulder and tore his left posterior capsule on a swing in last Thursday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

While the recovery time doctors provided would not assure Conforto of being ready for spring training next February, the 24-year-old outfielder was scheduled to receive a second opinion, however the Mets do not anticipate their input will differ, according to Ackert.
