With their three-game series in Miami set to begin tonight, the Mets called up Carlos Gomez, designated Keon Broxton for assignment, called up Paul Sewald, and placed Michael Conforto on the 7-day injured list for concussions.
Gomez is in the Mets’ lineup tonight and playing right field as he makes his return to the team with which he made his major league debut in 2007. He had a down year in the big leagues last year, but the 33-year-old was hitting well for Triple-A Syracuse before the call-up.
