The Mets have designated right-handed pitching prospect Jordan Humphreys for assignment, placed outfielder Jake Marisnick on the injured list with an injury to his left hamstring, and called up outfielder Ryan Cordell. The team has a 40-man roster crunch that has necessitated making space for players called up from its alternate site in Brooklyn, with reliever Tyler Bashlor having been DFA’d just yesterday.
Humphreys didn’t make our list of the Mets’ top 25 prospects coming into the 2020 season back before spring training, but he did get three votes in the 15th through 20th spots out of the four lists that factored into our overall list.
