Syracuse and Buffalo fought tooth and nail early on, but the Herd scored the decisive blow in the sixth. With Syracuse up 4-2 Zack Godley and Franklyn Kilome collapsed and combined to allow four runs on three hits and three walks- and the damage might’ve been worse if the Bisons hadn’t run themselves out of the inning on a close play at the plate. They added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth, but Syracuse went down flailing, with all three batters striking out on ten pitches total.
