With a playoff spot on the line, Syracuse had a late-inning second win, trouncing the Rochester Red Birds. Syracuse scored a few runs early, but Rochester tied the game up at 3-3 in the top of the seventh. They responded in the bottom of the inning with four runs, two on Syracuse hits and two on Rochester miscues. The game was delayed by rain in the bottom of the ninth and eventually called. With the win, Syracuse remains a game behind Scranton Wilkes-Barre. In order to stamp their ticket to the playoffs, Syracuse must win tonight, and Scranton must lose.
