The 51s got off to a fast start, then held on late to defeat the Rainiers 7-5 last night. Vegas scored six over the first four innings, with homers from Patrick Kivlehan and Matthew den Dekker leading the way. P.J. Conlon had a solid start, going six strong innings. Tacoma rallied late against Chris Beck to make it a game in the eighth, scoring three to cut the lead to 6-5. However, Peter Alonso ripped his second double of the game in the bottom of the frame to plate Jack Reinheimer with a big insurance run, and Tim Peterson closed out the victory.
