Mets Daily Prospect Report, 7/19/25: Tong keeps on rolling

This exciting back-and-forth contest was suspended in the bottom of the seventh after a 40-minute rain delay. The game will resume tonight at 5:30pm followed by Syracuse’s regularly scheduled game, which will be nine innings. Prior to the tarp coming on the field, Francisco Alvarez’s homer gave Syracuse an early lead, but the Tides bounced back and eventually built a two-run lead of their own. But the game will resume with Syracuse having gone back in front 7-6 thanks to a bases-loaded walk. Between the third and seventh innings, Syracuse left ten men on base. José Buttó also worked around two hits to pitch a scoreless inning to open the game in his first Triple-A rehab appearance.
