Both teams scored early and often, but in the end, the Syracuse bats fell just short. After retaking the lead in the seventh on a two-run homer off the bat of Danny Espinosa, Eric Hanhold faltered in the bottom of the inning, allowing three runs- two earned. Syracuse got a man on base in both the eighth and ninth, but weren’t able to cash in either time.
