Zach Lee pitched his best game in literally years, but left-hander was outpitched by Nestor Cortes, who tossed seven-plus scoreless innings to Lee’s two over seven. Trailing in the bottom of the ninth, Carlos Gomez blasted a two-run homer over the left-center wall to tie the game up at 2-2. The lead unfortunately didn’t last long, as Matt Lipka hit an RBI double in the top of the tenth and Syracuse was unable to replicate that in the bottom of the inning.
