The Mets’ upper mining pitching depth underwhelmed in this one, as Syracuse’s brutal start to the season continued. Franklyn Kilome walked three and struck out only two in five innings of work before Sam McWilliams got shelled for five runs in one inning, walking four batters total. Yennsy Diaz was technically charged with the blown save after allowing runners inherited from McWilliams to score, and he allowed another two runs of his own.
