Iowa scored two in the ninth but this was a resounding win for Syracuse regardless. Trayce Thompson had another three home run game to pace the offense, while Hayden Senger tallied three home runs of his own. On the mound, Dom Hamel was a bit uneven - four walks and thee runs without getting out of the fifth.
The Rumble Ponies scored in the bottom of the ninth and had the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position. Unfortunately, Brandon McIlwain couldn’t get the job done, striking out to end the game. Prior to that, not a ton of offensive activity; their only run scored on an error in the fourth.
