Mets Daily Prospect Report, 5/08/24: Unstoppable Syracuse

SYRACUSE 18, LEHIGH VALLEY 3 (BOX)

Up until the top of the seventh, this was actually a pretty normal ballgame. The Mets led the IronPigs 4-1, with Tylor Megill having a strong rehab outing. No sane human being could’ve possible seen the insanity that was about to unfold. After Hayden Senger grounded out back to the pitcher to record the first out of the inning, all hell broke loose. Eleven Syracuse Mets hitters came to the plate before the second out was recorded- and even that was a productive out, a fielder’s choice that drove in a run- and another five batters got on base before the inning finally ended- ironically, it was Senger once again.
