The Syracuse offense struggled for the second game in a row, mustering just five hits in the series opener against Pawtucket. Casey Coleman pitched relatively well outside of giving up two solo home runs in the second inning. Eric Hanhold gave up an RBI single in the seventh to make it 3-0, but was solid outside of that. The Mets scored both runs in the top of the eighth, by way of a Tzu-Wei Lin fielding error off the bat of Gregor Blanco, and a two-out RBI single by Danny Espinosa.
