The Mets are reportedly one of a number of teams checking in on the availability of center fielder Luis Robert Jr. Robert, currently in his sixth season in the majors, is hitting .206/.293/.343 with ten home runs, 41 RBI, and 26 stolen bases.
Roberts, a 27 year old Cuban defector, signed with the White Sox in 2017. In his career thus far, he’s won a Gold Glove (2020) and a Silver Slugger (2023), made an All-Star Team (2023), and got down-ballot MVP votes (2023). After a bad 2024 (86 OPS+), Roberts has continued to struggle in 2025.
