Ahead of their series finale against the Rays this afternoon, the Mets optioned right-handed relief pitcher Justin Garza to Triple-A Syracuse and called up fellow right-handed reliever Ty Adcock to take his place on the active roster.
The Mets picked up Garza in a trade with the Giants in exchange for cash a little over a week ago and added him to their major league roster shortly thereafter. In 3.2 innings since then, he has a 0.00 ERA and a 1.98 FIP. With the Giants’ Triple-A affiliate, he had a 6.11 ERA and a 5.57 FIP in 17.
