Mets’ bullpen is quietly rivaling their hyped rotation

For the past few years, Mets starting pitchers have stolen the spotlight, but the bullpen also is making a strong case to be recognized as one of baseball’s best.

After watching another brilliant Noah Syndergaard performance through seven innings, Jim Henderson and Jeurys Familia each pitched a scoreless inning to close out Sunday’s 3-1 win over the Brewers at Citi Field, extending the bullpen’s scoreless streak to 14 ¹/u2083 innings over the past four games.

The Mets bullpen lowered its combined ERA to 2.33, having entered Sunday with the best mark in the majors.

“We can all lean on each other now,” Henderson said.
