Mets’ bats remain ice cold in another loss to Red Sox

If you were hoping to see the Mets’ bats break out from their recent malaise, well, tonight wasn’t your night. Despite the good outing that they got from Clay Holmes, solid work from the bullpen, and a couple of defensive gems, the Mets failed to score and lost to the Red Sox by a 2-0 score.

And it’s not like they didn’t have an opportunity to get things going. In the top of the third, after throwing a couple of scoreless innings, Walker Buehler got himself ejected. Having plunked Francisco Lindor on the foot and getting visibly annoyed that Lindor had seemed to lean into it, Buehler threw a clear strike as Lindor stole second base.
