Mets are at a potential crossroads

I'm totally confused about the current state and potential direction of the Mets.

My hunch is that Sandy Alderson was kept on because he contended that Terry Collins, his coaching staff and the organization's medical protocols were more to blame than the roster. And, if the on-field decisions and leadership changed, because he believed in the talent, better results would follow. However, despite significant changes in the management of the roster and the composition of the training staff, the talent is still struggling and ending up on the disabled list.

Meanwhile, other teams that made similar changes in leadership, specifically the Braves, Phillies, Nationals, Red Sox and Yankees, are winning and also have emerging young talent to lean on this season and in the future.
